About the event

Come see us Saturday, October 5 as we pop into Brackenridge Park for the Monarch Festival! Arboretum San Antonio will have a table for you to come say "HI" and learn all about our vision for a tree sanctuary on our city's Southeast side. Located at the former Republic Golf Course on Southeast Military, we have secured 188 acres as a green space dedicated to trees for our community to enjoy nature. It will be a leading recreational, ecological, economic, and educational resource for residents and visitors of all ages. It will feature a 'cathedral of trees' with pedestrian and bicycle trails, a nursery to propagate native and climate-resilient trees, nature-based programming, event spaces, and public art displays. After a full year of listening to our community, we will reveal our final master plan design on May 10. Arboretum San Antonio’s master plan includes a four-phased approach to building and programming on-site. Phase Zero begins in June 2025 and is focused on a coordinated philanthropic and capital campaign. We anticipate being publicly accessible in some capacity in 2028.
