Arboretum San Antonio is a nonprofit 501c(3) organization founded in 2021 based on the vision of former Mayor Henry Cisneros for an inspiring “cathedral of trees” in San Antonio. We are located off Southeast Military Road, just east of Brooks Development Authority on a 188 Acre former golf course in the southeast section of the city of San Antonio. The land has several amenities that serve as a great starting point for a special place for trees. We have assembled both a highly engaged board of directors and an informed set of subject matter expert advisors to help guide us to the realization of a world class Arboretum for San Antonio. We are now seeking to build a staff team to help create the infrastructure and operations for this tremendous and exciting public asset that will have a widespread and lasting impact on the City of San Antonio for years to come.
