NATIONAL MOTH WEEK: NITE BLACKLIGHT EXPLORATION

A Nocturnal Adventure Under the Stars

Saturday, July 18, 2026 | 8:00 - 11:00 p.m.

Discover the Hidden Beauty of the Night!

When the sun sets, an entirely different world comes alive. While most of us sleep, hundreds of stunning insects are dancing, feeding, and thriving in the darkness. This summer, experience the magic of nocturnal insects at Arboretum San Antonio during National Moth Week 2026!

Join the expert Nocturnal Insect Tracking & Education (NITE) team for an unforgettable evening of UV blacklight exploration. Watch in wonder as moths, beetles, lacewings, and other extraordinary creatures emerge from the night, drawn to our specially positioned blacklights.

After a full year of listening to our community, we will reveal our final master plan design on May 10. Arboretum San Antonio’s master plan includes a four-phased approach to building and programming on-site. Phase Zero begins in June 2025 and is focused on a coordinated philanthropic and capital campaign. We anticipate being publicly accessible in some capacity in 2028.
