About the event
Our local project planners, along with national design partner, Sasaki, will lead a community event asking for ideas and input on what our city’s and South Texas’ first arboretum should be. The event will include a presentation on what an arboretum is and findings from the initial site fieldwork - revealing current conditions, trees, and plants featured today on the site. An interactive portion of the event will follow with stations and activities where guests can talk with and give their ideas to the project planners, architects, designers, and engineers responsible for the foundational plan.
There will be four stations that show how the Arboretum is connected to the Community, what the Land is like, what kinds of plants and animals are found in the arboretum’s Environment, and how the Arboretum is connected to Water with Salado Creek. Each station will have a unique activity that asks participants to help the planning team decide what kinds of programming, activities, and amenities the Arboretum should consider. The planning team is looking for all ideas to help shape the future of Arboretum San Antonio as a community asset.
This event registration is for the 3:30 workshop. We also have a 5:30 option.
